It's a Cupcake Cake...

So, there's a rule at Jackson's preschool that birthday treats must be store bought. (I'm sure some mom into totally homemade/homegrown foods in Eugene caused this one.) Anyway, so this is the Cupcake Cake that I bought for his class. For those who haven't seen them, this is 20 cupcakes frosted and decorated like a regular sheet cake. Kind of cool.

This picture doesn't accurately show just how much frosting there was. Literally, more than an inch of flat frosting with those swirls taking it up to 2 inches in places. It was a little extreme, but the kids seemed to like them. Taryn was very excited that for the first time she was allowed to go to preschool with Jackson. After cupcakes, the kids played Duck, Duck, Goose and then had recess on the playground. She thinks preschool is the best!

The 2 kids below really made me laugh. Let's just say that they went to town on those cupcakes with gusto.

After the cupcakes and out on the playground, Jackson informed me that "this was a great day!" I guess that's all any parent can ask for.

Why does it look like Jackson is going goth in picture #1? I'm just not sure that black lipstick is a good look for him.

Very cool cake by the way. I am going to have to see if I can get an ice cream cupcake cake. Now THAT would be cool! :)

Jackson had been eating the blue frosting right before I took the picture. You'll know he's gone goth when he wears his black, studded leather jacket. =)

Happy Birthday (a bit belated) to you Jackson! Wow, I can't believe you're 5 already, you're growing up so fast!
