One Great Dinner!
So, we did something a little different last night at dinner and it was highly successful. At Dennis' suggestion, we arranged our spaghetti right on the table and poured on the sauce and meatballs.
So, no silverware, no plates--but we did encourage the use of hands...Dennis!
Everyone got into the action and the kids ate more than they ever would have with a plate and fork.

The things parents do to get their kids to eat! Actually, we just wanted to shake things up and figured this would be a harmless way for our kids to make some fun family memories!

OH MY FREAKING COW! I WANT TO DO THIS! Will you convince mom and dad to forget about the table being nice so we can eat without dishes? This is possibly the coolest picture I've seen today!
Is Taryn wearing black lipstick? One of the pictures totally looks like YES but another one not so much... or am I imagining this?
You are definitely imagining it. How many parents let their 2-year-olds wear black lipstick?? I don't want a little goth running around! (But she would fit in in Eugene.)
How many parents let their 2-year-olds eat off of the table? Black lipstick isn't too far out of the question! ;)
That definitely looks like fun. Now you'll have to do it every October to make it a tradition!
OK, So I have been catching up on the life of the Frerichs and I started making comments on each section. I soon decided this was ridiculous. So I am just going to add one long "catch-up" comment here.
First off, the first thing I thought when I saw the latest pictures, is man those gives have gotten tall. From the looks of it Jackson is going to be taller than me by his 5th birthday.
Second, please say hello to the Gibbons for me. I was just thinking of them the other day. Hopefully they are thoroughly enjoying parenthood.
Third, October 27th... Today is the 21st... of November! That's much too long to go without a post. Of course I myself am too lazy to blog effectively. So I guess I can't complain too loudly.
Lastly, eating off the table (or the floor) is a tradition in the Philippines, but generally they put down banana leaves first. Maybe we can give that a try when you come down to CA. I would mail you some banana leaves, but I don't think they travel well. I don't know why, but in my experience food just tastes better when not served on a plate--go figure.
I promise to check in more often.
