So, yesterday we had a little soiree at our house. As an extended bishopric (meaning all the clerks with all the spouses, etc) we attended the temple and then came back to our house for
FONDUE! I know...quite the throw back to the '70s, but Dennis and I discovered the joys of
fondue in Eugene and are determined to carry on the tradition. Though neither of these pictures are like the fabulous double-boiler
fondue pots we have, you get the idea.
YUMMM!!!

If you have not yet discovered the joys of
fondue, let me list the reasons that
fondue is so great!
A party is always fun, but there's something magical when everyone is forced to stand around the food and converse. Instead of people sitting spread throughout the house, they're concentrated in one area and things get lively very quickly!
Anything dipped in chocolate tastes great! We had pineapple, strawberries, pretzels, marshmallows and bananas...simply delicious!
Anything dipped in cheese tastes great! We had several different breads, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, red/yellow pepper, mushrooms and apples....divine! The cheeses involved in the sauce were Ermanthaler and Gruyere. (Incidentally, I have become a huge fan of Gruyere...it's delicious and can be sprinkled on top of apple pie...not that I make apple pie.)
Fondue parties create great memories...I couldn't help but think of all the fondue events we had in Eugene...made me miss the Moris....and wish Matt would blog about something besides their remote control battles. =)
Everyone loves to stab things with their own little pitchfork!

Mmmmm. Makes my mouth water just to think about fondue. We have a very small (think romantic) fondue system just for two to dip their fruit into the melted chocolate. But we don't use it nearly enough. That's two parties in one week. Are you trying to be translated?
Ummm, we've talked about having a fondue party here in our dorm... We just haven't gotten around to it yet, although we've only been here for 2 complete months. Maybe I'll have to get some recipes from you?
Ouch Janyse that hurt--calling me out in your blog? Man, that's really brutal. I may have to go have a fondue party to ease the pain.
Oui Madame Janyse - le fondue et formidable! Je suis heureux que tu l'aime! C'est Francais - tu sais... ;)
Alright, we've been patient. I think it's about time for a dog-blog.
