John Mayer...
While I'm waiting to get our vacation pictures loaded onto the computer I thought I'd write a little post to tide you over. I recently discovered the joys of John Mayer. I know, I'm probably behind in the times but I have a confession--I never gave him a chance, just assumed he was an idiot and a talentless hack, all because he dated Jessica Simpson. Unfair?? Probably. Guilty be association, I guess. I think JM has a pretty unique voice and I intend to do further research. Dennis just LOVES it when I do research. (Ask him about all the research I did for WICKED.)

Janyse, I was just thinking the same thing about John Mayer actually. He has an excellent new song out titled "Say" and I really became hooked on it. Another unique voice that I absolutely love is the lead singer of Five for Fighting. I'm in love with his voice...but need to do some "research" :) to find out what his name is obviously. I only know him as the "Five for Fighting Dude". :)
Glad you made it home safe! Hey, come to Boston some time and come with me to New York for the day - I'm heading down there to see Wicked early Summer. Maybe while the Boston Marathon is on and the city is hoping with tons of people I'll take that chance to escape to NY (since half of NY will be up here in Boston). Come with!
I would so totally love a trip to NYC with you! Actually, I almost called to see if you wanted to go to Hawaii with me back in January because a good friend was getting married. You're up for a weekend getaway complete with several boxes of Kleenex?? I just got asked to go to Girl's Camp and with our vacation last week I seem to be spending Dennis' time off left and right!! Can Dennis come, too???
Janyse. You are a little behind with the whole John Mayer thing, but that's okay. I did a presentation on him in Creative Writing last year... and fell in love with him! Continuum is a waaaay good album, I especially love Dreaming with a Broken Heart and was excited to hear it on your blog. I listen to John a lot as I walk across campus, and fall in love with it all over again each time.
PS, good to know you got home safely. I was curious after our conversation.
Of course Dennis can come too!
So it looks like the Boston Marathon is Monday April 21 this year, which means that the world will be here in Boston that weekend (the 19 and 20). I've actually never been to NY yet (only live 3 1/2 hours away...but never been...shame on me). It would be awesome to see Wicked from Broadway no?!
If you two are seriously up for a trip out here, come on over and we'll drive down to NY (Staton Island and then take a boat over - much cheaper than parking in the city). We have plenty of room at our house for you to stay.
Glad you made it home safe. It was lovely to see you. We'll try to find a way to get up to Spokane. I can't promise it will be soon, but we're working on it.

I've been a long-time fan of John. How sad that you are just now discovering him. But I still like you. You know, some people don't care for him just because of the quirky faces he makes while singing. They don't know what they're missing. He's great...especially in concert!
